Head Chef Job Description
The role is based in an expanding Catering Company in Doha, Qatar, The Head Chef we are looking for will oversee.
Retail production catering - This service provides wholesale Lebanese mezze items to major hotels, airline and supermarkets
Hotel Staff Catering - providing a breakfast, lunch and dinner service to the staff at major hotels in Doha.
Shawarma & Falafel Outlet - provides take-away Shawarma and Falafel to the general public and on occasions provides outside catering using the same products.
Event and Production Catering Services - provides services to events such as the Doha Tribeca Film Festival, Qatar National Day and the Asian Games and any other Western Outside/Crew Catering
Construction Catering/Life Support Services – provides workforce catering for major construction companies in Doha on a 365 day basis.
About the Position
·Take full responsibility for the smooth running of the all the kitchen locations
·Prepare, oversee and ensure the quality of all food leaving the kitchen
·Responsible for all food procurement within the company and converse with the cooks and the office
·To manage staff, providing shift rotas and recruitment of new kitchen staff
·Enforce kitchen, personal and food hygiene standards within the kitchen
·Management of stock levels to ensure all required products are available whilst minimising waste
·Be responsible for and teach where necessary the correct and safe use of all kitchen equipment
·To create working practices and instructions to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen
·To be responsible for the correct use of all food storage methods, including labelling of stock, and maintaining safe refrigeration temperatures and safe transportation of food
·Liaise with and report to the Management on a daily basis
·Complete the induction and training of all new staff
·Responsible for the implementation of the correct appearance, as well as the standard of personal hygiene of all kitchen staff
About the Person
·Energetic, driven, highly focused and a team player
·Happy to work in a challenging environment, with sometimes limited access to resources.
·You are an experienced chef with a proven track record in the catering industry, capable of leading and developing a busy kitchen team to deliver good quality International food to our varied customer base
·You are capable of preparing , cooking and serving all consumables as required by Management whilst complying with policies on quality, portion control, food hygiene and maintaining and increasing profit margins
·You will work with the Management and your team to ensure that the kitchen is operating efficiently, effectively and safely
·You will have suitable experience of working with chefs and kitchen staff of all levels, from various nationalities and will be able to work effectively under pressure
·Holds all the relevant food hygiene certification and qualifications
